'Palmeiras waiting for first step': Romano confirms Chelsea's interest in Willian

Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Chelsea's links to Palmeiras winger Estevao Willian, confirming the club's interest in him.

"Chelsea remain well informed on Estevão Willian since November, as one of 4-5 South American talents they are tracking.

"Chelsea are aware of the release clause structure for the summer but have not presented any formal proposal so far, as Palmeiras wait for first official step."

Willian's release clause is reportedly set at £52 million. Given Chelsea's current financial condition and the number of wingers already at the club, it is hard to see how the move will materialize for the Brazilian.
