Cole Palmer has faced a bit of a blow in his hopes of clinching the 2023/24 Premier League Golden Boot award after Erling Haaland’s recent heroics for Wolves.
The Norwegian forward has scored five goals in the last two games, including four in Man City’s recent 5-1 battering of Wolves on Saturday (May 4) and took his tally to 25 goals.
Palmer, on the other hand, is joint-second in the Golden Boot race after having scored 20 goals so far – the same as Alexander Isak.
With Chelsea having three more matches to play in the 23/24 season, including the upcoming match against West Ham United, Palmer needs to score a hattrick or better against the Hammers to catch up to Haaland.
With that being said, considering how the 21-year-old scored back-to-back hattricks in home games in April, it’s not impossible that he also gets a four-goal haul against the Hammers.
