Mauricio Pochettino is a deeply unpopular figure among Chelsea fans, owing to his previous connection with Tottenham and under-par performances this season.
"I hope one day Chelsea fans will support me the same way Newcastle do with Howe," the Argentine said, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
"I say that because I am here, I am the coach of Chelsea and I want to win as much as our fans!"
The main difference between Howe and Poch is the results their respective teams show.
The Englishman took Newcastle from the relegation battle to a respectable mid-table finish in his first season and then guided them to a top-four finish in his second season in charge.
The Magpies are performing below expectations in the Premier League this term but are still ahead of Chelsea, who are in 11th place.
