Lewis Hall to sign long-term contract before heading out on Premier League loan (reliability: 5 stars)

Lewis Hall will sign a six-year contract with Chelsea before heading out on a one-season loan at Crystal Palace, the Evening Standard reports.

Chelsea have managed to hold off interest from their rivals, including Newcastle, who wanted to sign Hall permanently.

The 18-year-old has been rewarded for his performances last season when he played 12 games for the first team.

Despite mainly featuring at left-back for Chelsea, he's expected to play in his preferred midfield role at Crystal Palace.

The Blues had to loan Hall out after struggling to sell Marc Cucurella they signed just 12 months ago for £62m.
