'The door Lampard opened stays open': fan lists 4 arguments to prove Chelsea's youth revolution remains alive

Frank Lampard had his mistakes as the Chelsea manager, but the fans will long be grateful to him for making players like Mason Mount and Reece James first-team stars.

There was quite a lot of apprehension that the rise of the Chelsea academy will end after Lampard's sacking, but Thomas Tuchel proved those sceptics wrong, as NotClayMerritt, a Chelsea fan on Reddit, writes.

"I'm genuinely optimistic over the continued inclusion of youth as long as Tuchel stays and the board let him develop these players. Tuchel since he's been here has:

"1. Given Billy Gilmour pivotal starts in a top-4 race in big games that we desperately needed in order to qualify for CL. Heaped huge praise on him after said performances and spoke about him in ways he didn't necessarily speak about any of the other midfielders.

"2. Fought on Trevoh Chalobah's behalf when the club were wanting to send him out on loan. Made Trevoh his first Chelsea Academy debutant. Publicly said last week there's no need to sign someone like Kounde as long as Chalobah is here because he has taken advantage of his chance. Huge sign of confidence in him.

"3. Spoke very highly of Tino Livramento, is very complimentary of Conor Gallagher. Let Harvey Vale train stay training with the first team while other young players like Mbuyamba and Soonsup-Bell return to U23 training.

"4. Absolutely fawns over Ruben Loftus-Cheek anytime he comes up in conversation. Speaks about his giant potential every time.

"As long as Tuchel is here, that door that Lampard opened will stay open so long as the board gives him the chance to give these guys the chance."

Which youngsters (if any) do you expect to break through under Tuchel next?
